It's true, Eidos has seen some better days. But while the developer's admitted that sales haven't been great lately, they may be under new ownership. Enter Square Enix.

According to everyone from SiliconEra to Eurogamer, Square Enix is going to add Eidos to its stable of mounted development studio heads with a jaw-dropping offer of $120 MILLION (or about 84 million British dollars). Holy s*** on a f*** sandwich. That's over 100 percent more than the company's even worth.

Of course, this isn't the first time that Square's waved money in front of Eidos' starving shareholders, but why rush now? Well, if the deal goes through, that means Square gets Tomb Raider, Hitman, and... Backyard Wrestling.

Hmm. Maybe Square should pocket that money until the economy improves. Or try putting more funding into hurrying the Hell up with Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX. Yeah, remember those games, Square Enix? BOTH DELAYED, RIGHT?!

Lol, Backyard Wrestling...

I can definitely see Eidos taking the deal. Maybe Square Enix can re-establish the Tomb Raider franchise.

BTW, I love the Hitman games.

This could get interesting. I'm glad to see that Eidos has a chance of not going out of business.

They get more than just those three franchises. Do they not also get the Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain, Thief, and Fear Effect franchises as well in that deal?

If square is waving cash infront of the company that has the large boobed tomb raider series....Does this make square the equivalent to the lonely rich guy at the strip club?

Yep, but I'm not sure that any are ripe for revival.

If the picture is accurate and Laura is spending that much on her next boob-job, then every male entity in existence will buy the next game.

Deus Ex 3 is in development. Not sure if there were any more planned Thief games though. I do hope it is brought back, the first two were a blast but the third in the series was really terrible.
